POST 7: HOW CAN YOUR MAJOR MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

Imagen
I think this is something that people always ask when they know that someone studies arts or in my case dance, they always question how art contributes to make the world a better place.  I believe that art and dance in particular helps people to be more conscious with their bodies, to feel free and to be better people.  I also believe it helps people escape from their realities and simply enjoy movement, movement which for me is life. It's hard to think about how I would help this change, I think I would do it in trying to empower people, to train people to have a better quality of life and better health.  I also believe that art helps to express feelings and show social inequalities, looking at it that way I believe that art is highly political, and being an artist is a political position.  It is interesting what is emerging and how this question is posed, because I think there is always a different answer and that is beautiful, because it means that we are changing...

POST 6: EXPERT OR WEBSITE

Juliano Nunes, born in 1990 in Brazil. He studied at the Brazilian Conservatory of Dance in Rio de Janeiro, furthered his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim and was accepted as an apprentice at the Karlsruhe Ballet. His professional career began the following year, when he was hired by the company.  Juliano has worked as a choreographer for the Theater Opera de Paris and the National Ballet of Canada. He directed Maria Khoreva, soloist dancer of the Mariinsky Theatre of Russia a nd before the pandemic he created a piece for the AcostaDanza company in Cuba.  I like him very much as a dancer and choreographer, because he mixes classical ballet technique with contemporary dance. Something I really like and try to do when creating or dancing. I also think he is a reference for me because he is Latin American and I feel a little closer to him.

Post 5: A photo and its story

The truth is that I really like photography. Since I was a kid I always liked to take pictures of everything I saw, I used an old camera of my sister's haha. When I was 15 years old my parents gave me a semi-professional camera with which I still take pictures, working I was able to buy different lenses to improve and experiment in photography.  This photograph means a lot to me, he was a boy who was dancing in a school performance, and in his face you can see the nervousness before dancing. For me it was very meaningful because I felt that he was going through the same thing that happens to me before dancing. I took the picture in 2018 and since then it is my favorite picture. I am very interested in portrait photographs of people, I feel like you can see their story through their face.
