POST 8: English Language Challenges

Imagen
I am very excited to be finishing this course, I think the course was a very pleasant experience. Even though I was not able to be there much during the classes, the blogs and homework made me think and try to speak in English. I really like the use of the blog, I feel that it is a very didactic and practical way to interact with the language, besides the fact that the course is online, it enhances and helps even more the understanding of English.  I think the aspect that I need to work on the most is speaking or trying to converse, I am a person who usually has a hard time speaking and the mere thought of speaking and also trying to speak in another language that is not mine completely puts me off. That's why I think that's the aspect I need to work on the most.  Outside of the classes I really use English much less than I would like to, I only use it to watch series, listen to music and very rarely to communicate.

POST 7: Changes to your Study Program

Imagen
I think that when I first saw the curriculum for my career I did not fully understand it, and now that I am in my career I still do not understand it. In my opinion, there are areas that really do not serve much or at least they are areas that are not very useful for what I want to do in my career as a dancer. Another issue is that the duration of the career is very long, all content and subjects can be easily summarized in about 3 years, as is done in other dance schools around the world. However with covid these contents have been dilating even more, either because we have fewer classes or simply are things that can not be done virtually.  In relation to infrastructure, I think we need a new building with the real capacities and dimensions to have spacious dance halls, and many more rooms in order to not adapt spaces to create rooms, but to build them from the beginning focused on dance.  The use of technology does not seem very relevant to me, although the new acquisi...

POST 6: Time Travel to the Future

Imagen
How difficult it is to think about this situation, I had never thought about it.  But I would say that I would like to travel to a place very similar to the one named by the miss, a place where we can be ourselves, free of stereotypes, without discrimination, a friendly world where dissidence and especially women are given importance.   I think I would like this to be in the near future, because these are changes that have been asked for and fought for years and we still don't see real changes.  If I were asked to stay there, I would definitely choose to stay, because I believe this is the world we all dream of.  A much better world is built with awareness, empathy and respect. Where animals are treated as sentient beings. Where there is no pollution and we are free people. That is the place I want to travel to, and travel to as soon as possible.

POST 5: My Future Job

Imagen
I think I am very clear about the job I want for my future, which is to be a professional dancer and work in a dance company. I imagine it fantastic and full of challenges, I have always been a person who fights for his dreams, and you can dance in a company more than being my job, it would be a dream for me. Obviously to work as a dancer you need to work indoors (or most of the time). I would love to be able to travel around the world dancing, getting to know cultures and learning from many dancers around the world.   The best thing about being a dancer is that I don't need to be in an office, because I'm very restless and it's hard for me to sit for so long haha.  To be a dancer I am studying a Bachelor of Arts with a major in dance, which helps me to be able to get that dream job. Despite not finishing my degree at the university, I have already had the opportunity to work in a company as a dancer, something that encouraged me even more to want to dedicate myself to danc...

POST 4: A person I would like to meet

Imagen
I think the person I would like to meet is Maria Khoreva, a 21 year old Russian dancer. My desire to meet her comes because she is the youngest dancer to become a soloist at the Mariinsky Ballet.  She looks like a very disciplined person and passionate about what she likes, that's something I highlight and try to imitate from her. Khoreva was born in St. Petersburg, and at the age of 10 she entered the famous Russian ballet school Vaganova.  She managed to enter the professional Mariinsky Ballet Company at the age of 18 and signed as an ambassador of the famous Nike brand. I highlight her personality, perseverance and the work she puts into her career. I hope one day I can meet her and see her dance live, which must be a great show and truly a luxury.  Maybe the world of dance will bring us together at some point in life haha xd.  Bye.

Post 3: A day to remember

Imagen
I remember perfectly well that day. It was the third performance of a dance show with which we toured the Maule region. I remember that for that tour we had a creative process of a year to create the work, after that many hours of rehearsal to achieve what we wanted.  The day was very sunny in 2017 and we had to dance in the square of the town of Romeral, a town located north of Curico. People began to arrive very early to see us and enjoy the play. By the time the show started, the square was full of people and mostly children. At the end, a little boy came up to me with his mother to ask me for a picture, since he loved the way I danced and he told me that he really liked to dance and that his dream was to be a dancer. At that moment I was very excited, because I felt that I had been the inspiration of someone else, and even more of a child, which made me remember when I was little and I just liked to move and jump from one side to another. It was a very beautiful moment an...

POST 2: The Best Concert

Imagen
The truth is that I have only been to one concert in my life. It was Francisca Valenzuela concert, I think it was in 2017, I don't remember very well. I heard on the radio that Francisca Valenzuela would do a concert in my city (Curicó), I immediately told my mom that we should go and we bought tickets. Just that year I had started to listen to Francisca's music a lot, so I was very excited to listen to her music haha xd.  The day of the concert we arrived very early, and we managed to be among the first rows. Without doubt it was an incredible experience, since Francisca Valenzuela played almost all the songs alone with her piano, which made if feel very intimate and exciting. My mom loved it and she remembers this day when we went. I think being with my mom was very nice, because for both of us it was our first concert and we enjoyed it very much. I would love to go to many concerts, especially Illapu, one of my favorite Chilean bands. I hope that soon there will be concert a...
