POST 7: HOW CAN YOUR MAJOR MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

Imagen
I think this is something that people always ask when they know that someone studies arts or in my case dance, they always question how art contributes to make the world a better place.  I believe that art and dance in particular helps people to be more conscious with their bodies, to feel free and to be better people.  I also believe it helps people escape from their realities and simply enjoy movement, movement which for me is life. It's hard to think about how I would help this change, I think I would do it in trying to empower people, to train people to have a better quality of life and better health.  I also believe that art helps to express feelings and show social inequalities, looking at it that way I believe that art is highly political, and being an artist is a political position.  It is interesting what is emerging and how this question is posed, because I think there is always a different answer and that is beautiful, because it means that we are changing...

POST 6: EXPERT OR WEBSITE

Juliano Nunes, born in 1990 in Brazil. He studied at the Brazilian Conservatory of Dance in Rio de Janeiro, furthered his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim and was accepted as an apprentice at the Karlsruhe Ballet. His professional career began the following year, when he was hired by the company.  Juliano has worked as a choreographer for the Theater Opera de Paris and the National Ballet of Canada. He directed Maria Khoreva, soloist dancer of the Mariinsky Theatre of Russia a nd before the pandemic he created a piece for the AcostaDanza company in Cuba.  I like him very much as a dancer and choreographer, because he mixes classical ballet technique with contemporary dance. Something I really like and try to do when creating or dancing. I also think he is a reference for me because he is Latin American and I feel a little closer to him.

Post 5: A photo and its story

Imagen
The truth is that I really like photography. Since I was a kid I always liked to take pictures of everything I saw, I used an old camera of my sister's haha. When I was 15 years old my parents gave me a semi-professional camera with which I still take pictures, working I was able to buy different lenses to improve and experiment in photography.  This photograph means a lot to me, he was a boy who was dancing in a school performance, and in his face you can see the nervousness before dancing. For me it was very meaningful because I felt that he was going through the same thing that happens to me before dancing. I took the picture in 2018 and since then it is my favorite picture. I am very interested in portrait photographs of people, I feel like you can see their story through their face.

Post 4: A meal or food you really like

Imagen
Hi everyone. Choosing a favorite food is a bit difficult haha because I like a lot of things, like pizza, sushi and many other foods. but to be honest my favorite is french fries. I really think I could eat them every day, I like them a lot because almost everything can be accompanied with fries hahaha. plus they can be cooked in many ways.  I actually eat a lot of fries, at least once a week. So together with my boyfriend we made an investment and bought an air fryer xd, to make them a little healthier and not feel so guilty after eating them.  I think since I was little I love fries, in fact every time I travel to my parents house, my mom waits for me with fries because she knows I love them haha.  Bye, remember to drink water. <3

Since I was little I always wanted to be an astronaut haha because I liked everything related to the planets and the sky.  I always liked dancing very much, in fact all my memories as a child are dancing or doing things on stage and when I was in high school I decided to study dance, I really had no other study options, because it was the only thing I imagined studying. I decided to study dance because it is what I like to do and what changed my life. My experience at the university has not been very good, because of the three years I've been studying I've gone one semester to college haha. But I have met many wonderful people and my best friend, who because of the pandemic I haven't seen her for more than a year :( Bye.

Post 1: My autobiography  Hello everyone, it is really hard for me to talk about myself but I will try this time. I'm Gerardo Garrido, I'm 21 years old an dI was born in Curicó (a city in the seventh region) on March 29, 2000. I studied all my elementary and high school, a catholic school. I don't think my catholic education helped me because I'm an atheist haha. When I was 10 years old I started practicing artistic gymnastics, I was training for 6 years, I managed to be selected nationally Ann win a South American gymnastics in Uruguay. When I was 16 years old I decided to retire because I had a serious injury in my left ankle and I also wanted to start dancing (something I had always liked) so when I graduated from high school I went to study at a dance school in Santiago, but I didn't stay long and I retired. In 2019 I started studying dance at the University of Chile, and here I am haha, dancing from home. During the year I live in Santiago with my boyfriend in...
